What is LITFULO?

LITFULO is a prescription medicine used to treat severe alopecia areata in adults and adolescents 12 years and older.

What is the most important information I should know about LITFULO?

If you're interested in speaking with your dermatologist about LITFULO, it's important that you understand and take a closer look at any possible side effects, including serious and common side effects.

What should I know about the LITFULO clinical study?

The main goal of the LITFULO clinical study was to measure scalp hair regrowth. It was 48 weeks long, randomized, double-blind, and placebo-controlled for 24 weeks. There were 261 participants (ages 12+) in the study, and all of them had lost at least half of their scalp hair due to alopecia areata. They took either LITFULO or placebo (an inactive pill). Safety and effectiveness have not been studied in people under 12 years of age.

What were the scalp hair regrowth results from the LITFULO clinical study?

Nearly 25% of adults and adolescents taking LITFULO saw significant hair regrowth that covered 80% or more of their scalp in just under 6 months.* Some people even saw this amount of regrowth in just over 4 months.

*In just under 6 months, 23% of people on LITFULO saw 80% or more scalp hair coverage (vs 1.6% on placebo) and 13.4% saw 90% or more scalp hair coverage (vs 1.5% on placebo) in the clinical study.

How should I take LITFULO?

  • LITFULO is a pill taken once a day
  • Swallow LITFULO whole
  • Do not split, crush, or chew LITFULO
  • You can take LITFULO with or without food

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose of LITFULO, take it as soon as possible. If it is less than 8 hours before your next pill, skip the dose. Take the next pill at your usual scheduled time.

How long can I take LITFULO for?

Like with any medication, it’s important to talk to your healthcare provider (or in this case, your dermatologist). Together you can decide if a new treatment is right for you and how long you should stay on treatment.

There’s no known restriction for how long LITFULO can be taken. In the LITFULO clinical study, 1.5% of participants permanently stopped LITFULO due to side effects.

If your dermatologist starts you on LITFULO, they will monitor you throughout treatment. If needed, your dermatologist may adjust your treatment plan. Be sure to tell your dermatologist if you experience any side effects.

How do I get my medication after being prescribed?

Your dermatologist can either send your prescription to Pfizer Dermatology Patient Access™ and enroll you in the program, or they can send it directly to a specialty pharmacy. If your prescription is sent directly to a specialty pharmacy, you’ll be contacted to provide some information and complete a few steps.
